Springtime
Oh, spring came to my garden And caught it unaware Wearing just a few old leaves And a dejected air. But when spring left my garden, Its work so deftly done, Many, many Daffodils Were dancing in the sun. -Velma D. BATES. www.backyardgardener.com Almost four years ago when I moved into the house where I reside, the garden/yard was waist-high in weeds, the soil was hard as concrete and all I had for a garden "budget" was elbow grease and determination. Although I was raised in the farmlands of North Dakota, I lacked any gardening and growing experience. As an apartment dweller for most of my adult life, container gardening and store-bought, ready-to-plant flowers was the extent of any dreams I had for a garden. I've come a long way, Baby. My plan for this new group is to: 1. Share ideas and dreams of having a beautiful garden 2. Help novice gardeners get started 3. Becoming water-wise 4. Making the right choices for plant selections 5. Combining hardscapes and water features in a garden 6. Creating focal points or 'attention getters' 7. And of course ~ saving (unless your garden includes the ever-popular money tree) Group Stats
